HAYES, MARY LOUISE – Mrs. Mary Louise Hayes, 70, of Seville, died at her home on Monday, Oct. 20, 2008 surrounded by her family. She was a native and lifelong resident of Seville, the daughter of the late Thomas V. and Grace Newman.

She had worked for Producers Hardware for many years and also the Vol­usia County School System. She was an avid crafter, loved music, played piano for church and taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Winter Haven Baptist Church.

Mary Louise was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-six years, Murray E. Smith.

Mrs. Hayes is survived by her husband of 16 years, Thomas Hayes; two daughters, Debra Peterson (Pete) of Pierson and Rhonda Kern (Billy) of Pierson; one brother, Bob Newman of Lake Helen; and sister, Betty Smith of Seville; grandchildren, Chad Peterson, Brandi Gaffney, Meagan Russell, Miranda Smith, Jarred Smith and Dylan Kern; and great-grandchildren, Alexis, Chadwick, Grayson, Olivia, Abby and Payton also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hayes will be conducted 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008 in the Word of Faith Bible Church with Rev. Mark Hodges officiating and Rev. Howard Cox, pastor assisting. Visitation was held Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Seville Cemetery.
