		    W.P. "Red" Wilson, 77, St. Augustine, died  April 4, 2007, at Shands Jacksonville from injuries sustained in an automobile  accident.
                
		      He was born in Hastings and was a life-long resident of St. Johns County. He  grew up on his parents' farm in St. Johns County and graduated from Hastings  High School. He attended the University of Florida and served in the United  States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He also played semi-pro football  in St. Augustine.
  
		      He drilled wells for a living at first and then started his own farm about  1960. The property grew to 500 acres, which he farmed with his family. In 2001,  he was awarded the Kiwanis Club of St. Augustine's Agricultural Award. He was a  long time member of First Baptist Church of Hastings.
  
		      Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of  Hastings with Rev. Doug Knight, pastor officiating. 
		      
		      Interment will follow at Pellicer Creek Cemetery.
		      
		      Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at the  First Baptist Church of Hastings.
		      
		      Flowers are gratefully declined and those wishing  may make a contribution in his memory to a charity of your choice.
  
		      He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Tocoi; four children, William Paul  Wilson, II and his wife Roxanne, Molasses Junction; Tommy M. Wilson and his  wife, Christine, Tocoi; Sylvilia Lynn Harris, St. Augustine; Scott E. Wilson  and his wife, Dena, East Palatka; one brother, Donald Wilson and his wife,  Lorraine, Palatka; grandchildren. Austin, Wyatt, Shelley, Brannon, Evan,  Christopher, Caitlin, Loni, Donald, Dakota, and Jo-Dee; great-grandchildren,  Keely, Gavin, and Makena.
  
		      He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Ernest and Bessie  Wilson, and four sisters and one brother.
  
		      Kotrady-Hudgins-Croyle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
