	        Betty Jane Carter Waltersdorf 
	        Betty Jane Carter, 72, of the  Southwood community of St. Augustine, passed peacefully on Saturday, March 8,  2008, at Kindred Hospital of North Florida in Green Cove Springs. 
	        Born in Ohio, she studied nursing  at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and pursued a career in nursing  interrupted only to raise her children. Active in the Terre Haute Indiana  Community Theater and the Vigo County Historical Society, she held a passion  for art in many forms from ceramics to needlepoint and was an avid volunteer in  many activities involving her family. 
	        Preceded in death by her first  husband and her parents, she is survived by her husband, Howard Waltersdorf, of  St. Augustine; brother Robert M. Jordan and wife Carol of Boonville, Mo.; a  daughter, Cynthia Banks, husband Eddy and granddaughters, Lauren and Matty  Banks of Dublin, Calif.; and son Robert C. Carter Jr., wife Debbie and grandson  Jordan B. Carter of Franklin, Tenn. She also welcomed two step-sons and their  wives into her family: Tom and Angie Waltersdorf of Virginia Beach, Va., and  Mike and Sara Waltersdorf of Gridley, Ill. 
	        Graveside Memorial Services will  be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Pellicer Creek Cemetery south of  St. Augustine. To reach Pellicer Creek Cemetery, go south from State Road 206  on either U.S. Highway 1 or Interstate 95 until those two roads cross at I-95  exit 298. Immediately south of the exit, turn right (west) from U.S. 1 onto  County Road 204 and go about 1.8 miles. The cemetery will be on your left. 
	        In lieu of flowers, please donate  in Betty's memory to the charity of your choice.
