	          Robert  Simms Dies; Graveside Rites Thursday 
	          
	          Robert  (Ed) Simms, 72, 5 Isabelle St., died Monday afternoon in Flagler Hospital.  Born in Ft. Pierce, he was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine. 
	          
	          He  was a retired employee of the St. Augustine Ice Company. 
	          
	          Graveside  services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, at Pellicer Creek Cemetery, with  George Rake, Jehovah's Witness, Ft. Pierce, officiating. Friends may call at  the chapel of the Craig Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday. 
	          
	          Survivors  include his wife, Mrs. Effie Hart Simms, St. Augustine; six daughters, Mrs.  Richard (Rachel) Taylor, Mrs. Carlyle (Helen) Taylor, Mrs. Earl (Audrey)  Vaughn, Mrs. Linda Kersey, all of 81. Augustine, Mrs. George (Effie Mae) Allen,  Bunnell, Mrs. David (Kay) Banks, St. Augustine; two sons, John Melvin Simms  and Artie Edward Simms, both of St. Augustine; four sister, Mrs. Margaret  Barger, Mrs. Evelyn Rake, both of Ft. Pierce, Mrs. Carrie Gurr, Scottsmoor,  Fla., Mrs. Henry (Dorothy) James, Orlando; and a number of grandchildren and  great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. 
	          
	          Craig  Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
