Joedy Vernon Sapp Sr., 69, of St. Augustine, died March 23, 2004, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Ft. Pierce, and had resided in St. Augustine most of his life. He was the owner/operator of Sapp's Crab House. He was a commercial fisherman.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 26, 2004, from 5 to 9 p.m. at The St. Augustine Boating Club, a memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the Boating Club. Flowers are gratefully accepted or those wishing may make a contribution in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 280 Isabella Blvd., Suite 20 Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Laura "Jeannie" Sapp; one daughter, Beverly Jean Noda; two sons, Joedy Sapp Jr. and Kevin Sapp; one sister, Dorothy Quigley; one brother, Billy Cullen Sapp, all of St. Augustine; eight grandchildren, Cassie, Tracy, Joedy III, Amanda, Kevin II, Jacob, Norman and Chris; 10 great-grandchildren.
