	        William Hughey
	        William Hughey, 79, of San Mateo  died Monday, November 29, 1999 at the Putnam Community Medical Center following  a brief illness.
	        He was a native of Lewis Beach,  Delaware and, coming from Camp Blanding, he had been a resident of this area  for the past 54 years, having lived in Hastings, East Palatka, and most  recently in San Mateo. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired  from the Georgia Pacific Corp. in Palatka in 1983 after 32 years of service. He  belonged to a union at Georgia Pacific Corp. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed  fishing, gardening, and raising goats.
	        He was preceded in death by his  wife, Irene Hughey who died in 1983; two daughters, Sandra Hughey who died in  1991 and Sharon Elaine Hughey who died in 1956.
	        He is survived by one daughter,  Cherylene Hughey of San Mateo; one son, William Ernest Hughey of San Mateo; and  a special friend, Evelyn Elizabeth Sigman of San Mateo.
	        Funeral services will be 2:00  p.m. Tuesday at the Pellicer Creek Cemetery near Hastings with Rev. Ed Straner  officiating. The United States Army will bestow military honors. Friends may  call at the Masters Funeral Home of Palatka 6-9 p.m. today.
