	          Emanuel  Carter Dies; Rites Are Thursday 
	          
	          Emanuel  Carter, 85, Route One, Elkton, died Tuesday afternoon in a Jacksonville nursing  home. A native of Carterville, Fla., he was a lifelong resident of St. Johns  County. 
	          
	          He  was a member of the Cattlemen's Association and a retired farmer and  cattleman. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hastings. 
	          
	          Funeral  services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Craig Funeral  Home with the Rev. Wayne E. Thomas, pastor of the Christ United Methodist  Church, Hastings, officiating. Burial will be in Pellicer Creek Cemetery.  Friends may can at the Craig chapel from 5 p.m. today until the hour of  service. 
	          
	          Survivors  include two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Hartman and Mrs. lone Wilkinson, both of  Jacksonville: two sons, Louis E. and Lloyd Carter, both of Jacksonville; and  two sisters, Mrs. Eva Langford, and Mrs. Ada Byrd, both of Hastings. 
	          
	          Craig  Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
