CRAIG FUNERAL HOME
		      St. Augustine, Florida
  
		      Alice Beachem, 92, a fifth-generation native and  lifelong resident of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully on July 1 surrounded  by family in the home built by her husband, Joseph Beachem. 
  
		      Alice was born Sept. 19, 1915, to William and Agnes Cothron. She was a graduate  of Ketterlinus High School, Class of 1934. She was a member of Memorial  Presbyterian Church. 
  
		      She worked at Florida East Coast Railroad until retirement. She volunteered for  several organizations, including Flagler Hospital Auxiliary, and was a member  of St. Augustine Ballroom Dance Association and the Riverview Club. She also,  worked as a secretary for the Federal Selective Service in St. Augustine.
  
		      She was predeceased by her parents, William Cothron and Agnes Cothron, and  husbands, Seth Barnes, Slade Pinkham and Joseph Beachem. 
  
		      She is survived by brothers, Bill Cothron (Grace) and James Cothron (Fran); her  children, Bryant P. Barnes (Linda), Peggy Pinkham Reed (Bill), Mary Pinkham  Kross; stepson, Paul Beachem; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren,  great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 
  
		      Alice cared deeply for her family. She loved life, especially dance, poetry,  the ocean and eating at O'Steen's. She had many wonderful friends, most of whom  have gone before her. She was a blessing to everyone who crossed her path. She  often said, "Blessed is he that finds joy in the journey." She will  be greatly missed. 
  
		      In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Northeast Florida. 
  
		      Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with services Tuesday at 11  a.m. at Craig Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pellicer Cemetery.
