		      PALM COAST - Walter V. Sheppard, 77, of Eagle Harbor Trail, who was a  detective for the New York and New Jersey Port Authority, died Saturday at  Florida Hospital-Flagler. 
		      
		      Mr. Sheppard, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in  New York City, and came here in 1995 from New York. He also formerly prepared  taxes for the AARP and worked as a supervising special agent for the JFK Civil  Aviation Security Field Office. Mr. Sheppard was a member of Friends of the Library,  the North East Florida Jazz Band and the NAACP. 
		      
		      Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Doris; two  daughters, Erma and Ramona Sheppard, both of New York City; two brothers,  James, South, Portland, Maine, and Herbert, Orlando; a sister, Hyacinth  Williams, Long Island, N.Y.; and a grandchild.
