John Owen “J.O.” Look, 81, Ormond Beach passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, Palm Coast.

He is survived by his wife Harriet, daughter Maureen (Michigan), son Paul (Oregon) and two older brothers-Cal (MI) and Tom (WI).

He was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine, and his younger brother Dick. J.O. was born and raised in the Detroit area and graduated from Notre Dame in 1949.

He served in the US Army in Korea and then spent most of his career in the printing business in Detroit, also becoming President of Farmington Country Club. He and his wife, Geraldine, retired to Spruce Creek in 1982, where he took a major role in community and church activities. They moved to Plantation Bay in 1986, where he was an avid golfer for years. Later his favorite pastimes were playing cards, watching sports and the ocean. J.O. was a humble and gentle man and considered his family, many friends, and “two great marriages” as his greatest blessings.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home 511 Old Kings Road South Flagler Beach on Wednesday, January 21, from 1:00-2:30PM. A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Korona 3:00PM on the same day.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Guillain-Barre Foundation (GBS Foundation) at 104 ½ Forrest Ave, Narberth, PA 19072.
