Seymour G. Karnes

Funeral Services for Seymour G. Karnes, 83, of Palm Coast, will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S., Flagler Beach. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens. 
 

Mr. Karnes a resident of Palm Coast for the past 18 years coming from Rock Hill, SC and Warwick, RI, passed away Friday at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, Palm Coast. He was born on October 18, 1934 in Fitchburg, MA a son of the late Harry and Frances Silver Karnes.  

A retired textile chemist for Sequia Chemical Company, Mr. Karnes was a veteran serving as First LT in the US Air Force. He was also a member and former two term commander of the Jewish War Veterans of Palm Coast, a member of Temple Beth-El, Ormond Beach, a member of MOAA, AATCC, the Touro Fraternal Association of Providence RI and the Brown University Alumni Association, where he graduated with his Bachelors Degree. An Avid NY Yankee's fan (who always wished they beat the Boston Red Sox's) enjoyed all sports, playing bridge, arguing politics, and traveling the world on over 50 cruises with his beloved wife.  

Mr. Karnes was a heart transplant recipient in January 1996 at the Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC and because of that he was able to see all three of his grandchildren Bar and Bat Mitzvah'd. He felt it was a true blessing and gift.  

Surviving are his much loved wife of 60 years, Charlotte (Rosenberg) Karnes, his loving children, Jeffrey Karnes of Exton, PA, Elizabeth Hamilton and her husband Christopher of Charlotte, NC and Maxine Morgan and her husband Michael of Jacksonville, FL and his grandchildren whom he adored, Becca, Zachary and Nicole.  

The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.  

Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
