FLAGLER BEACH – Mabel Mae Whitney, 69, 320 n. Third St., a secretary at Flagler-Palm Coast High School until her retirement in 1979, died Thursday at Meadowbrook Nursing Home after a long illness.

Mrs. Whitney was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and moved here 37 years ago from Clermont. She was a member of the Flagler Beach United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth, The Hammock; toe daughters, Donna Ash, Bunnell, and Joyce Lindsey, Hayesville, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Bobbie Blanton, Plantation, and Barbara Cummings, Clermont; two brothers, Bernie Fagersten, Paramus, N.J. and Larry Fagersten, Scottsburg, Ind.; and five grandchildren.

Craig, Bunnell, is in charge.
