		      NORTH POLE, Alaska - Gene Clinton  White, 62, a former resident of Pierson, died June 13, 2005, at his home. A  graveside service for him will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 27, at the Espanola Cemetery,  where his urn will be laid to rest. 
		      
		      Mr. White was born in Stuart. In  1952, he moved to Pierson, where he attended Pierson Elementary School and  Pierson High School. 
		      
		      A heavy-equipment operator, he  traveled to Alaska during the pipeline boom of the 1970s, working for Cowlthorp  Draglines Inc., and he also was self-employed. 
		      
		      Mr. White later returned to  Pierson. He moved to Alaska again in 1993, settling in North Pole. He worked  with Operating Engineers Union Local 302, of which he was a member. 
		      
		      He was always planning for the  future and for the next season, and, in his spare time, he enjoyed reading,  watching movies, and fishing. He was a hardworking man with a great sense of  humor, and his goal in life was to take care of his family. 
		      
		      Mr. White was preceded in death  by his parents, Sam and Edna White, and one sister, Dolores Bickham. 
		    He is  survived by three daughters, Joni White of Palatka, Lisa Allen of North Pole,  and Krista Canoy of Great Falls, Mont.; two sons, Billy of Fairbanks, Alaska,  and Sammy of North Pole; one brother, Jack of Fairbanks; one sister, Donna  Richards of DeLand; one cousin, Grady of Espanola; and six grandchildren. 
		      
		      Watts Funeral Homes Inc. in San  Mateo was in charge.
