		    Emil A. Smythe, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Flagler  County, passed away Thursday afternoon at the Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach  following a lengthy illness. He was 67 years of age.
		    Mr. Smythe was born in Basel, Switzerland and came to the United  States in 1927. He came to Flagler County fifteen years ago from New York City.  He was office manager for the Flagler Truck and Tractor Company until his  appointment as Clerk in 1961. He was reelected in 1964 for a four year term. He  was a member of the Bunnell Lions Club and the State Association of Clerks.
		    He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of Bunnell; two  daughters, Ann Creal and Barbara Smythe of Bunnell. Also surviving are four  grand children.
		    Funeral services were held from the First Methodist Church  Bunnell at two thirty Saturday afternoon with the pastor, Oliver F. Taylor  officiating. Interment followed at the Espanola Cemetery. Arrangements were  under the direction of Craig Funeral Home of Bunnell.
		    Active pallbearers were Dale Brown, Don Moore, Lee Drazba,  P.A. Edmonson, Billy Wadsworth, and Alfred Tucker. 
                
		      Honorary bearers were Virgil Decker, H. V. Peavy, Otis  Hunter, George Wickline, T. K. McKnight, Raymond Smith, Louis Steflik, Jack  Clegg, Tillman Robinson, Don Jordan and C. H. Cowart.
