		    Hilda Sheffield
		     Hilda Sheffield, 86, Lake Como, FL passed  peacefully into her heavenly home on Saturday, July 11, 2009 in Gainesville,  FL. She was born July 9, 1923 in Colquitt, GA.
Hilda Sheffield, 86, Lake Como, FL passed  peacefully into her heavenly home on Saturday, July 11, 2009 in Gainesville,  FL. She was born July 9, 1923 in Colquitt, GA. 
		    After one year, she moved with  her parents, John Isom Sheffield, Sr. and Dezzie Cordelia (Hill) Sheffield to  Florida. Her school years were spent in Bunnell and she graduated from the  Bunnell High School in 1942, where she excelled, leading her Senior Class as  Valedictorian. After business college, she went to work for Met Life for  approximately 40 years, mainly as office manager and field service  representative. 
		    After retirement, Hilda moved to  Lake Como, FL. Ms. Sheffield greatly enjoyed her family, friends, and church. She  loved sharing in the ministry of her church, First Baptist, Pomona Park, FL. She  also enjoyed being in several other Christian and community organizations;  loving to lead and share. But perhaps most importantly she loved her family. 
		    Preceding her in death were her  parents; her sister, Winifred Virginia Sheffield; and three brothers, Aubrey  Isom Sheffield, Clifton Eugene Sheffield, and John Isom Sheffield, Jr. 
		    Surviving members who cherish her  memory are her sister and brother-in-law, Johnnie and Ernest Roughton,  Gainesville; nephews and nieces and their spouses, Clif and Debbie Sheffield,  Ormond Beach, Linda and Ralph Miles, Daytona Beach, Gary and Donna Sheffield,  of Flagler Beach, Connie and Clinton Baylor, Bunnell, Lana and Wayne Trull,  Canton, N.C., John and Rachel Sheffield, Flagler Beach, David and Amanda  Roughton, Gainesville, Denise and Larry Taylor, East Palatka, James and Rhonda  Roughton, Gainesville, and John Roughton, San Mateo; 18 grandnieces and  nephews; and six great-grandnieces and nephews. 
		    Funeral services will be 11:00  a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the 1st Baptist Church of Pomona Park, with  Rev. Jimmy Mulkey and Rev. John Andes officiating. Burial will follow in the  Espanola Cemetery, near Bunnell. Calling hours will begin one hour prior to  service time at the church. 
		    Masters Funeral Home of Palatka  is in charge of arrangements.
