RICHARD. L.G. (RUSTY). JR. - Funeral service for Rusty Richard, local business  owner, who died Friday, January 10, 2003, in Gainesville, will be 10 a.m.  Tuesday, January 14, at the First United Methodist Church of Bunnell. Burial  will be at Espanola Cemetery immediately following services. Calling hours will  be Monday, January 13, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the First United Methodist  Church, Lambert Street, Bunnell. 
Born in Ithaca, Mich., on January 6,  1957, Rusty was the owner of Maverick Gun and Pawn, Bunnell, for the past 12  years. Coming from Michigan In 1979, he was a former law enforcement officer  during the early 1980s for the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. Before coming  to Florida, he owned and operated with his family a gas and tire store in  Michigan. 
He is a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club and the  NRA. He was also very active in local politics, being a member of the Bunnell  and Flagler Chamber of Commerce, the Charter Review Committee for the City of  Bunnell, and the Economic Review Committee for the City of Bunnell. He was an  avid NASCAR fan. 
Survivors include his cherished wife of  19 years, Linda; daughter, Melissa Flad, granddaughter, Kathrine Ballard, and  her father, Tony Ballard, all of Bunnell; Parents, Maxine Wale, Bunnell, and L.  G. Richard and wife Sue, Bunnell; beloved son-in-law, John and Grace Martin,  Bunnell; and numerous aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law and a large community of  close friends. 
He was preceded in death by beloved  grandparents, Max and Belma Husted, Ithaca, Mich., and Norman and Ella Richard,  St. Cloud.
