THE HAMMOCK - John Daniel (J.D.) Perritt, 73, a retired grocer and former owner of J.D. Thriftway Food Store, Flagler Beach, died Friday night at Community Hospital of Bunnell.

A native of Climax, Ga., Mr. Perritt moved to this area 20 years ago from Arlington, Tex. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the VFW, Bunnell. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Flagler Beach and served on the Flagler County School Board for two terms.

Survivors include his widow, Ollie; two daughters, Vicky Donalson, Marianna and Patricia Zumwalt, Lewisville, Texas; two sisters, Kate Shilling, Orlando, and Agnes Axon, Jacksonville; three brothers, Bowen H., Jacksonville, Joe J., Vero Beach, and William H., Daytona Beach; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
