 BUNNELL - Services for D. D. Moody, 65, 401 N.   Anderson St., Bunnell, who died yesterday morning at Flagler General Hospital,   will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at First Methodist Church, Bunnell.  Rev. Howard Porter, pastor, will officiate   assisted by Rev. Thomas Pinner, pastor of First Baptist Church. Burial will be   in Espanola Cemetery southwest of Bunnell.  Dewey  D. Moody, Flagler County Tax Assessor for the past 33 years, died Sunday night  at the Bunnell General Hospital where he was being treated following a heart  attack on August 20.
 
 He  was also a registered surveyor and had engaged in this business about 40  years.
 
 Mr.  Moody was born in Baxley, Ga. and had lived in Flagler County since 1904. He  was, a son of the late Robert and Martha Moody of Bunnell.
 
 He  did not seek reelection as tax assessor this year and had opened an office on  U. S. Highway One for his survey business. He planned to devote his time to  the surveying business.
 
 His  surveys of early Spanish and British land grants in Flagler, St. Johns and  Volusia counties led to an interest in preserving the history of this part of  Florida.
 
 He  was one of the founders of the Volusia Hammock State Park Association which  acquired the Bulow Ruins and Tomoka State Park and other historic sites in  Flagler and Volusia counties.
 
 Recently  Mr. Moody had been excavating and restoring the remains of prehistoric animals  from an east Flagler County swamp. He had planned to set up an exhibit to  finance establishment of practical surveying where college graduates could  receive field experience.
 
 Mr.  Moody was president of the Bunnell Rotary Club, and a member of the Flagler  County Chamber of Commerce, the State Association of Tax Assessors and the  First Methodist Church of Bunnell. He resided at 401 N. Anderson St.
 
 He is  survived by his wife, Murtice Moody, Bunnell; two daughters, Miss Juanita  Moody, Bunnell, and Miss Iona Moody, Orlando; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Black  and Mrs. Marie Kane, Bunnell; one brother, Robert Moody, Flagler Beach.
 
 Funeral  services will be held at the First Methodist Church of Bunnell at 3 o'clock  this afternoon (Thursday). The pastor, Rev. Howard Porter, assisted by Rev.  Thomas Pinner, Jr., of the First Baptist Church, will offiiciate.
 
 Friends  may call at the Craig Chapel all day Wednesday and until 1 o'clock this  afternoon. Also at the church from 2 o'clock until the funeral hour.
 
 Pallbearers  are Tom Holden, Lawrence Dahlquist, F. J. Chambers, Levi Brannam, Tommy  Durrance and Dr. John Canakaris.
 
 Arrangements  are under the direction of Craig Funeral Home of Bunnell.
