		    James F. Mercer, 500 N. Cherry St., Bunnell, a long time  resident of Flagler County passed away Friday morning at Gilmer's Nursing Home  in St. Augustine, following a lengthy illness. He was 76 years of age.
		    A native of Baxley, Ga., he was a former Flagler County  Commissioner and road superintendent. He was elected Tax Collector and served  in that capacity for 29 years before retiring. He was a member of Bunnell  Methodist Church and Bunnell Lodge No. 200 F&AM.
		    Funeral services were held at 2:00 p. m. Sunday at the  Bunnell Methodist Church, with the Rev. Morris C. Garkin, pastor of the United  Methodist Church, Hastings, officiating. Interment followed at Espanola  Cemetery. Graveside services were conducted by the Bunnell Masonic Lodge.
		    Pallbearers were Gib Anderson, Lewis Wadsworth, Otis Hunter,  Dale Brown, Harry Atkinson and Cordell Robertson. 
		    Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Martha Mercer, Bunnell;  two daughters, Mrs. Otis Masters, St. Augustine; Mrs. Leland Lyons,  Jacksonville; five sons, Johnnie Mercer, Holly Hill, S. C., Zeno Mercer,  Daytona Beach, Ray Mercer, Bunnell, Lamar Mercer, Orlando, Gayle Mercer,  Hastings; four sisters, Mrs. Lizzie SeDessie, Panama City, Mrs. Leona Story,  California, Mrs. Pauline Horton, New Smyrna, Mrs. Carrie Alford, Bunnell; two  brothers, John H. Mercer, Ormond Beach, Lee Mercer, Alma, Ga.; 19  grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 
		    Craig Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
