BUNNELL  - Hazel H. Holland, 91, of North Pine Street, who retired in 1973 after 37  years as a teacher for Flagler County schools, died Sunday at home. 
Born  in High Springs, Mrs. Holland moved to this area in 1926. She was a member of  First Baptist Church of Bunnell, the Old Kings Chapter of Daughters of the  American Revolution, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Bunnell Pioneers Historical  Group and XYZ Club of the United Methodist Church. 
		    She attended the former  Florida State College for Women. She also was a lifetime member of the Florida  Retired Educators Association and a charter member of the American Association  of University Women. She enjoyed reading, genealogy, history and politics. 
		      
		      Survivors  include two sons, Cary and Kent, both of Ormond Beach; two sisters, Hilda  Knight, Lake Charles, La., and Zelda Deen, Intercession City; four  grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. 
		      
		      Memorial  donations may be made to a charity of one's choice; or the Delta Kappa Gamma  Rho Chapter Scholarship Fund, 403 Tennis Lane, Lake Mary, FL 32746.

              HOLLAND, HAZEL H - Funeral service for Hazel H. Holland, 91,  who died peacefully at home, Sunday, Oct 13, 2002, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct  18, 2002 at the First United Methodist Church, Bunnell. Friends may visit from  6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, October 17 and from 9 a.m. until service time  Friday at First United Methodist Church.
		    Mrs. Holland was a retired teacher who taught generations of  Flagler County residents. She retired in 1973 after 37 years of service. Mrs.  Holland was born in High Springs, FL. She came to Bunnell to live with a sister  and finish school after the death of her mother. She left to attend FSCW (FSU),  returning to begin a career in teaching.
		    She married Z. D. Holland, a member of a pioneer Flagler  County family. Mrs. Holland possessed a lifelong love of learning. She was an  avid reader, an active member of professional organizations and genealogical  research groups, and retained a keen interest in history and politics. 
		      
	        Mrs.  Holland was a charter member of the American Association of University Women,  Old Kings Highway Chapter, DAR, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, a life  time member of Florida Retired Educators Association, a member of the UDC,  Bunnell Pioneers Historical Group, First Baptist Church of Bunnell, and the XYZ  club of the United Methodist Church.
		    Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Zelda Deen, Intercession  City, and Mrs. Hilda Knight, Lake Charles, LA; two sons Cary and Kent and  wives, Connie and Kathy, whom she loved as daughters; four grandchildren, David  and wife Toni, Jason and girlfriend Jennifer, Garrad, Staci and husband Josh;  one great-grandchild, Zachary and many nieces, nephews and friends, whom she  dearly loved.
		    The family expresses great appreciation to Dr John Canakaris  and to the care givers who have assisted Mrs. Holland. Memorials may be made to  the church or charity of your choice of the Delta Kappa Gamma Rho Chapter  Scholarship Fund, 403 Tennis Lane, Lake Mary, FL 32746.

		    Always  A Lady - Always in Our Memories 
		      
		      Marion  Hazel Harrell was born to John and Mary Harrell on July18, 1911, in High  Springs, Florida. After her mother died when she was fourteen, Hazel lived in  both Jacksonville and Bunnell with her sisters. Hazel received her diploma from  Bunnell High School and her Bachelor's in Education from Florida State College  for Women. Hazel also attended graduate school at Stetson University. 
		      Hazel  married Zachary Dean Holland in 1938 and they started a family in 1943. Dean  was drafted in 1944; Hazel and first son, Cary, joined Dean in Texas when both  were able to trave1. After the war, the family returned to Bunnell and second  son, Kent was born. 
		      Hazel  proudly taught school for nearly four decades in Bunnell. She was also an  active member of and held leadership positions in professional and community  organizations such as Delta Kappa Gamma, Bunnell Pioneers, Florida Retired  Educators Association (life member), Flagler Association of American University  Women (charter member), Daughters of the American Revolution at United  Daughters of the Confederacy. 
		      Hazel  is survived by her sister Zelda; her sister Hilda and her husband A.C. Knight;  her son Cary and his wife, Connie; her son Kent and his wife, Kathy; her  grandchildren: David and his wife, Toni; Jason and his girlfriend Jennifer;  Garrad; and Staci and her husband Josh;   great-grandson Zachary Samuel; and many nieces and nephew whom she  dearly loved. 
		      Gracious  and unassuming, Hazel would be pleased by your presence at her memorial  service.
