William Wayne “Bill” Harris 69, of Bunnell passed away on February 27, 2019 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. He was born on November 14, 1949 in Bonifay, Florida to the late Coy G. and Lennie Nancy Harris.

At a young age, he and his family moved to Bunnell, he graduated from Bunnell High School where he played football. Bill worked for over 30 years with the Flagler County Road Department where he was a mechanic.

He enjoyed football and was an avid Florida State University Fan but his greatest passion was NASCAR. Bill built and raced his own cars at Barberville, Bithlo and Gainesville Florida.

His memberships included the Masonic Lodge of Bunnell, The Scottish Rite and Shriners of Deland. Bill will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maudena Sims; siblings, Coy, Gene, Ralph, Faye, Rex, Carolyn and Fred.

Survivors include his love of 20 years, Sharon Green, her children, and grandchildren; brother, Russell Harris; sisters, Ruth McGowan (Joe Shores), Ann (Philip) Heinen; grandchildren, Garrett Sims, Chelsea Russell and many more loving, nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Donations in his memory may be made to The American Cancer Society.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019, 3:00PM at Espanola Cemetery.
