GRIGGS,  VIRGINIA AKINS - Funeral service for Virginia Akins Griggs, 79, who died Sunday,  Nov. 20, 2005, at Palatka Health Care Center, Palatka, will be 10 a.m.  Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home, Palatka, with the Rev.  Leroy Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Espanola Cemetery, Flagler  County. Calling hours are from 6 until 8 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the funeral  home. 
Mrs.  Griggs was born in Alexander City, Ala., and moved to Putnam County in 1963  from St. Johns County. She enjoyed working as a caregiver to many folks over  the years. She was a Methodist and in her spare time loved to fish. 
Survivors  include her sons, Arnold Coate, George W. Akins Jr., William Henry (Patsy)  Akins and Donald E. (Karen) Akins, all of Palatka, and Robert M. (Debbie)  Akins, East Palatka; daughters, Sarah (Alvin) Salyers, Bunnell, and Deborah  (Daniel) Casey, Palatka; brother, Robert Dunson, Bunnell; sisters, Aileen  Harding, Bunnell, and Ruby Jarosz, Palm Coast; 16 grandchildren; and 22  great-grandchildren. 
Johnson-Overturf  Funeral Home, Palatka, is in charge of arrangements.
