INTERCESSION CITY, Fla. -- George Edward Deen, 83, a former resident of Flagler Beach, died Monday at home.

Mr. Deen was born in Baxley, Ga., and moved to this area many years ago from Palatka.  He was a superintendent with 40 years of service for Gulf Life Insurance Co., before his retirement.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Palatka, Scottish Rite, and Gulf Life Insurance Co. Old timers Club.  He was also an honorary life member of the Palatka Railroad Museum.

Survivors include his wife, Zelda, a daughter, Florelle Stinebaugh, Intercession City; a son, George E. Jr., Panama City; a brother John A., Ocala; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Craig, Palm Coast, is in charge.
