BUNNELL – Jeff Cockrell, 71, Palm Terrace Mobile Manor, a Flagler County road superintendent for 18 years until his retirement, died Tuesday at Coastal Communities Hospital, apparently of a heart attack.

Mr.  Cockrell was born in Greene County, Ala. and moved to this area 50 years ago from Eutaw, Ala.  After his retirement in 1983, he became president of J, and M. Materials Inc. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice; a daughter, Joann Cockrell Atkinson, Bunnell; and a grandchild.
