BUNNELL – George “Gene” Barber, 606 N. Moore St., a lifelong Flagler County resident died Wednesday at St. Augustine General Hospital.

Mr. Barber was born in Flagler County and was the city water superintendent for the City of Bunnell before his retirement. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bunnell.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy.

Funeral service for George (Gene) Barber, 75, 6060 N. Moore St., Bunnell, who died Wednesday at St. Augustine General Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Bunnell, with the Rev. Kenneth Gaskin officiating. Interment will be at Espanola with the V.F.W. conducting graveside services.
