		      William Henry Akins, 62, of Palatka, passed from this life  on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following a  brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, Henry had owned and  operated William Akins Lathing, Inc. He loved NASCAR, fishing and spending time  with his family.
		      
		      He was preceded in death by a son, William “Buddy” Akins,  his parents, George W. Akins and Virginia “Joy” Akins Griggs and a brother,  Donald “Pencil” Akins.
		      
		      Henry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patsy Akins of  Palatka, a son, Buskel Keene (Miracle) of Jewel Ridge, VA, like a son, Robert  “Pie” Scott (Tammy) of Palatka, his siblings, Arnold Choate and George W.  Akins, Jr. both of Palatka, his twin brother, Robert M. Akins of East Palatka,  Sarah Salyerds (Alvin) of Bunnell and Deborah Casey (Daniel) of Palatka, 5  grandchildren, Makiyah Cheyenne Akins, Adalina Sunshine Akins and their mother,  Mary Akins, Perry Lee Keene, Cecil James Keene and Emily Robin Keene and  numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
		      
		      Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 17, 2017 at  Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. William James officiating. Burial  will follow at Espanola Cemetery in Flagler County. Visitation will be Thursday  from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
