Benjamin Orman Sparkman, 55, Route 1, Bunnell, was killed in a head-on automobile collision early Saturday morning about two miles north of Flagler Beach on AlA. He was dead on arrival at Bunnell General Hospital.

He was a native of Port Orange and moved to Flagler County about 22 years ago from there. He was a cattle rancher and was employed by ITT-Rayonier, Bunnell. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Flagler Farm Bureau.

Graveside services were at 3 p. m. at Espanola Cemetery with the Rev. Claude A. Brubaker, Interim Pastor of Port Orange First Baptist Church, officiating. Pallbearers were Frank Kitchings, Elmer McDonald, James Minchew, Bobby Bennett, M. C. Strickland, and Robert Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Miss Susie Sparkman; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Dunbar, Mrs. Ethel Ditson, and Miss Ida Sparkman, all of Port Orange; and a brother, Steve Sparkman, Bunnell.
