Louis Scott Sheffield, 49, died suddenly on Friday evening, August 18; 1972, as the result of a heart attack. He had returned to Bunnell only a few weeks ago after spending several years in South Vietnam.

He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 5, 1922 and moved to Bunnell in 1950 where he owned and operated Sheffield Dairy located in the Bimini area. He spent the past six years in South Vietnam where he was an electrical engineer.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bunnell where he served as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon. He was a member of Oceanway Masonic Lodge and was a past director of North Florida Dairy Association. He was a veteran of World War II

Funeral services were held Monday, August 21, 1972 at First Baptist Church, Bunnell with interment at Espanola Cemetery. Services were conducted by Reverend Donald Foster, pastor, and Dr. E. Whitford Ware, former pastor.

Survivors included his wife, Alma; daughter, Mrs. Terry Thompson, El Paso, Texas; son, David, Monticello, Illinois; mother, Mrs. Robert Bond, Jacksonville; mother-in-law, Mrs. G. A. Case, Orlando; sister, Mrs. Naudine Rogers, Jacksonville; two brothers, B. K. and Carl, Jacksonville; and eight grandchildren.

Craig Funeral Home, Bunnell, was in charge of arrangements.
