James Monroe Schankweiler, 65, died at 6:15 Sunday night in the St. Vincent hospital in Jacksonville following a major operation.

Mr. Schankweiler, who owned and operated the Dixie Highway Lunch and Flagler Cabins on Dixie Highway here for several months, was born in Shamokin, Pa., where he resided before coming to Bunnell.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Catherine A. Schankweiler of Bunnell and one daughter, Mrs. Herbert Ripper of Springdale, Pa. Also two grandchildren, Joyce and Barry Ripper of Springdale, Pa.

The body was shipped Monday to the former home in Shamokin, where funeral services will be held.

Mrs. Schankweiler and Mrs. Ripper accompanied the body to Pennsylvania.
