	      R. A. Powell, 80, better known as "Red," died  recently of an apparent heart attack. .
	      Powell, who lived at 1010 W. Moody Blvd. in Bunnell, was a  retired peace officer. A native of Henderson, Ky., Mr. Powell had lived in Flagler County  for 50 years. He had served as a deputy sheriff and justice of the peace in  Marion and Flagler counties.
	      He was a member of the Florida Peace Officers Association,  a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Morocco   Shrine Temple  and a life member of the Ormond Beach Elks Lodge. 
	      Survivors include his widow, Ida; two daughters; four  sisters; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
	      In lieu of other remembrances, the family suggests  donations be made to the Shrine Crippled Children's Home, P. O. Box 200, Palm Coast   32037.
