Funeral services for John D. Peterson, pioneer resident of Volusia County, are set for Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Lutheran Church in Pier­son. Mr. Peterson died at his home in Pierson on Tuesday evening, following a heart attack.

Mr. Peterson was born in Dolsland, Sweden, 86 years ago and came to this country in 1875. He resided in Illinois state until 1884 when he moved to Pierson to make his home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Johannan Peterson; one daughter, Mrs. Helma Swanson; three sons, Rudolph, Arvid, and Evald all of Pierson. Also one sister, Mrs. Betty Johnson of Dolsland and one brother.
