Samuel Luther Nickell, Flagler Beach town clerk, died about 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Halifax hospital in Daytona Beach, after being admitted during the early morning. Mr. Nickell, who was 62 years of age, had been in failing health for several years but able to continue his duties as clerk until Monday.

Mr. Nickell was born in West Virginia and came to Flagler Beach in 1943 and was appointed town clerk. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P. M. Friday in the Baggett-McIntosh Funeral Home in Daytona Beach, with Rev. L. E. Watkins, pastor of the Bunnell Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will following in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Daytona Beach, with Bunnell Masonic Lodge conducting the service:

Members of the Flagler Beach town commission will be pallbearers.
