THE FLAGLER TRIBUNE
Bunnell, Florida
Thursday, December 12, 1946

The late Frank Dupont, 82, of Federal Point and Crescent Beach, was buried this week in the old DuPont Cemetery by the side of his father, Virgil, and his grandfather, Abraham, who in 1799 took over the Spanish Grant and raised his family on the shores of the Matanzas River.

Frank Dupont, the last of a family of nine, was a direct descendent of Abraham Dupont, stalwart Frenchman whose descendants scattered over the State of Florida, held annual reunions, one of the last of which was in Crescent Beach overlooking the ocean. Earlier ones had been held in Daly Grove, the spot on which Mairneland now stands.

According to records, 125 descendants were present on July 4, 1939 at the home on Crescent Beach. At his meeting, among others, were Sarah DuPont of San Mateo who died this year, Cornelius, son of the first Cornelius of DuPont Center, with his nine children, and John L. DuPont, son of Benjamin who with his wife Rosemary, still reside on the estate which extends from the rocky coast in Marineland to the banks of the lazy Matanzas on which estate is located the cemetery.
