Funeral services for Mrs. Verette Mikell, 63, of Jacksonville, were held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Lake Butler Cemetery at Lake Butler. She died in a Jacksonville hospital Saturday afternoon after a long illness. .

She was born in Lake Butler and had been a resident of Jacksonville for five years. She formerly resided at Flagler Beach. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, George Mikell, Jacksonville; a daughter, Mrs. George Hodges, Jr., Jacksonville; her father, Grover Driggers, Lake Butler. Also surviving are two sisters, two brothers, and several nieces and nephews.
