Thursday,  July 1, 1937 - - Sumner W. Allen of Bunnell died in St. Augustine Saturday  night following an accident which occurred on the highway about 18 miles north  of Bunnell Saturday night.
	        Investigating  officers reported that they believed one of the front tires blew out causing  the car to turn over several times. No other cars were involved officers  reported.
	        He was  rushed to a hospital in St. Augustine by passing motorists, but died upon  arrival there.
	        Funeral  services were conducted at the Chapel of Craig Funeral Home in St. Augustine  Tuesday afternoon by Reverend W. L. Nelson, pastor of the local Methodist  church. Burial was made at the Evergreen cemetery in Jacksonville the same  afternoon.
	        Pallbearers  were: P. S. Johnson, V. W. McKenzie, L. S. Cody, A. B. Johnston, A. C.  Rodgers, and R. W. Deen Jr.
	        Mr.  Allen is survived by his widow, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Allen of  Bunnell; three sisters, Mrs. R. A. Powell, Bunnell, Mrs. Arthur Durshimer of  Bunnell, and Mrs. C. C. Samford of New York City. Also one brother, George E.  Allen Jr., of Bunnell.
	        Mr.  Allen has been a resident of Bunnell practically all of his life and was  engaged in the farming business, owning and operating a farm in the Bimini  farming section.
