Charles Vernon Brown

Charles Vernon Brown, son of T M Brown and Delia P Mitchell, born 28 Oct 1859, Middletown, Champaign CO, IL, died 04 Oct 1920, Bunnell, Flagler CO, FL, married around 1887 Elizabeth T Moore, born about 1866, MO, died 04 August 1953, Atlanta, Fulton CO, GA. Both are buried in Espanola Cemetery, Espanola, Flagler CO, FL. Her grave is not marked.

They are found in the 1920 census of Flagler County on page 5 with their two sons, with his occupation given as "Salesman Retail Store" and his son Floyd H. Brown's occupation given as "Clerk-Bank." It is not known when the family moved to Flagler County nor when they moved away. The information regarding the son Floyd is from the Bunnell Home Builder. They were the parents of two children;

1. Floyd Hawthorne Brown, born 16 Apr 1889, ND, died Aug 1966, Jacksonville, Duval CO, FL, married Jul 1928, Hastings, St Johns CO, FL, Mary Elizabeth Anderson, dau of Sidney Cepheus Anderson

He was residing in Flagler CO, FL when in Nov 1917 he enlisted in the Quartermaster Corps of the U. S. Army in Jacksonville and left immediately for Fort Shriven, Ga, where he would train. In Feb 1918, his father, received word that his son Floyd had arrived in France. After the war he returned to Flagler County and was employed as a clerk in the bank for awhile and in May 1928 was in the insurance business - he was living in Hastings

2. Charles Rudyard Brown, born 13 Mar 1899, ND, died 17 Apr 1965, Geauga Regional Hospital, Cuyahoga CO, OH.
